Can you deduct moving expenses after you finish school for your first job -- i.e., after medical school and moving to start residency? Thanks!

Yes, as long as you moved for full-time employment and you meet the time and distance tests, you may deduct moving expenses for your first job. For a first job, your place of employment must be at least 50 miles from your former home to meet the distance test. For more information, please see IRS Pub 521: Moving Expenses.
