Can we deduct medical miles for our son, if we are already getting a rebate from his insurance carrier for his transportation?

Our son has a medical condition that requires him to see a specialist in Portland (220 mile round trip) every other month. His insurance carrier does reimburse us for his mileage.

If you have been reimbursed by your insurance carrier, you cannot deduct these medical miles.
