Can my 6 years old son iwith a ITIN instead of SSN get the $500 family tax credit? Why did the turbo tax system shows that he doesn't count for the Child Tax Credit?

The new rules for the Child Tax Credit are that only a child under the ager of 17 with a Social Security number can qualify for the child tax credit.  If your child has an ITIN, then you can claim your child as a dependent and get the $500 credit for other dependents.
