My ex received an automated payment for our 2020 first stimulus payments into a bank account that my name has never been on. He did not give mu portion of the payment to me. I claimed the recovery relief credit on my 2020 taxes, but the iRS reduced my refund by $1200 and notified me that it was because they had already paid the stimulus money. I had also previously notified them of the identity theft and asked them to investigate. I’ve never heard anything on that. Now I’m finding out that the deadline to recover the stimulus money was in May of this year. Can I still recover my money since I have made efforts to claim it previously?

You can’t recover your 2020 stimulus.
You cannot recover the payment from the IRS. They already made the payment. Your ex-husband got the payment. You could ask your divorce lawyer if there is any hope of getting the money from your ex.
