You cannot get "EIC for a spouse". Only children are qualifying persons/dependents for EIC.

You must file as Married Filing Jointly, with your spouse, to claim EIC based on your own income. You may not claim EIC if you file  Married Filing Separately

No. And a spouse cannot be a dependent.  If your income is extremely low, and you are between ages 25 and 64, you may qualify for EIC on your own.

Any unemployment comp that Spouse received is taxable.
