No, policies that pay you for time spent in the hospital are not deductible.  The income from these policies does not directly pay medical expenses.  If you used any of the proceeds to pay eligible medical expenses, you can deduct those amounts as medical expenses under deductions and credits, but you cannot include premiums for the policy itself as medical insurance.
