Can I get a deduction for mileage to & from church each week since I am making a monetary donation each time I attend mass?

Each week, I donate via a personal check to the Catholic church. It is legit & I have the 501c Tax Id #

Yes.  This is a voluntary action to assist the church with their services.  Your mileage can be used to calculate the mileage for charitable purposes anytime you make an extra trip to the church specifically for this or other extra charitable functions associated with the church.

• .  You cannot use the mileage of going to and from church for regular services.
  

To enter your charitable mileage for itemized deductions for Schedule A in TurboTax Home & Biz:
