If you refinance your mortgage, you must have a new mortgage credit certificate (MCC) to claim the credit on the new loan. Also, the new credit amount cannot exceed the original credit amount.

Can I file the Mortgage Credit Certificate for 2019 if I refinanced in late Feb 2019?

I purchased a home in Aug of 2019 and am now looking to refinance. I qualified for and received an MCC in Idaho when I made the purchase but my income has increased past the limit since then. If I refinance will I be able to have the MCC reissued under my original qualification or will I lose the MCC now that my income exceeds the limit?
