This was their annual school district tax I paid last August.

Not unless you are on title to the house. To claim any tax,
1, the tax must be imposed on you
and
2, you must pay it.
If you are not on title to the house, then the tax was not imposed on you and you can not deduct it.

Can I deduct real estate tax I paid for my parents on their house?

Only if you have a legal obligation to pay those taxes. If your name is not on the tax bill, then you can't claim or deduct it. Your parents can however, even though someone else (you) paid it.
