Can i claim real estate taxes on a second or third home

I purchased a home in South Carolina with the intent of moving into it when we sold our house in New Jersey. Since I am still waiting to sell my New Jersey home as of this date while my South Caroalina home sits vacant can I claim the property taxes and interest from the 2nd home?

Unlike mortgage interest, you can claim real estate taxes on any number of homes that you own.  Mortgage interest is limited to your principal and one additional residence.
