There is no rule against an employer reimbursing an employee for expenses they incur ... hand in the receipt to the boss and they can deduct it on the business' return.

If you are asking if you can deduct the money you spent for the food and craft supplies, etc. on your tax return--no--if you are a W-2 employee you cannot deduct job-related expenses on your federal tax return.

But as Critter told you, there is no rule that says the daycare center that employs you cannot reimburse you if you spent your own money on things for the children you are taking care of.    The daycare center can claim that as a business expense on its tax return.
