Boyfriend and I bought house, I pay mortgage. He is on the mortgage. do I have to say I co-own. we file seapreat, he dose not want to claim the home.

You can claim the mortgage interest that you paid even if your name is not the first name on the mortgage. You co-own the house and are allowed to deduct the portion (up to 100%) of mortgage interest which you actually paid in 2017. Please check We co-own this loan with someone and only pay a portion of it in the TurboTax interview.

You can also claim property taxes that you actually paid in 2017.
