Bought Office Desk and Chair but No Receipt
We bought a new desk and desk chair for my home office when we moved last June. I no longer have the receipt, but I can find the expense on my credit card statement. Can I deduct it?

Yes, as long as it shows an office supply store or furniture store type of business on the credit card statement. If you ever have to prove the purchase with a credit card statement, the IRS may want a more detailed receipt. Often, stores can recall receipts if you have a transaction number on your statement.
