As a self-employed contractor, where do I enter materials purchased for and used on a specific job?

Your material purchases go in the Inventory/Cost of good sold section. When you enter that section, you will be prompted to enter your beginning and ending inventory, just leave that section blank since you are not selling products. On the screen that says Let's get the cost of your goods, enter your material purchases where it says Cost of purchases.
