Allocating APTC for shared health policies across 2 tax families
I shared an Obamacare health insurance policy with my daughter and son. My daughter is filing her own return and is at 141% poverty level. I'm filing MFJ with our son as dependent. My spouse has medicare coverage. Due to some stock sales, we are over 400% poverty level. I received 1095-A and did get APTC. TT allows me to allocate 100% of the 1095-A amounts to my daughter. Is that ok?

The IRS allows you to allocate the amount in any way you choose to do so as long as 100% of the APTC is reported on someone's return ... what you want to do is a smart way to handle a sticky situation.
