Tax Year Prior to 2020: After I entered the deduction amount shown on my Form 1098 for Mortgage Insurance Premiums (VA Funding fee) the amount in the Fed refund box did not increase. Why not?

This is usually because you either still need to enter more itemized deductions to have an amount over the Standard deduction, or your refund amount has maxed out based on your tax withholding.
