Advance Child tax Credit payments and stimulous #4?

Well I'm inquiring about the advanced child tax credit payments and why it is I received them for the first 3 months and abruptly it said my status was pending resulting in me being ineligible for them. I no longer received the payments and I was wondering why that would have been after I had already been eligible. Also wondering if this is the fourth stimulus payment and when if it will be dispersed and how much.

There could be a number of reasons why the advanced payments were stopped. At this point, only the IRS knows for certain. What we do know is that you should receive a 6419 Letter from the IRS next year that will reflect the amount of advanced credit that you actually received. If you should have received ALL of the advance credit for the full 6 months, it will be reconciled on the 2021 taxes and you will receive the addition amounts not given. KEEP THIS FORM for the 2021 tax preparations!!!

There has only been the three stimulus payments issued to date. The Advance Child Tax Credit is not one of them.

Uh oh, looks like JandKit beat me to it! Here's my original response just to add to it.

For the best answer it's best to contact the IRS directly. They would be able to tell you exactly why the payments stopped and the IRS can fix any error that may have occurred in determining your eligibility. As of now there isn't a 4th stimulus payment so the Advance Child Tax Credit is not the same as a stimulus payment. I appreciate it but any chance you would have the correct phone number to contact the IRS with this issue? Ive tried and always get an automated system if nothing at all.
