On my form 1116 line 3.a under Deductions and Losses, Ttax has only given me the $17,500 s.d., not $23,500 and in my Federal Review Ttax is signalling this as an error to be corrected.
Shouldn't the extra $6,000 have been assigned, since my DOB clearly indicates that I am over 65? Did I miss a box that must be checked in the Personal Details section?

No...that error has to be due to something else.
The Std Ded for seniors doesn't include that extra $6000.
The extra $6000 shows up as an entirely separate extra deduction, a couple lines lower on the form 1040 from the Std Deduction.
1) Std deduction...line 12e of the form 1040.
2) Extra Sr Deduction....all, or part of line 13b of the form 1040 (a couple other things can add into that line from the new Schedule 1-A)
The senior additional deduction is not on form 1116, but on Schedule 1-A of form 1040, as explained below.
The senior deduction is automatically calculated by TurboTax based on the date of birth you entered in the My Info section.
The senior additional deduction is not included in the standard deduction but appears on line 37 of Schedule 1-A of your form 1040, with that amount flowing to line 13b of your form 1040.
In TurboTax Online, you can only view Schedule 1-A after registering and paying the TurboTax fee.
But you can preview your form 1040 and check line 13b of your form 1040 which includes the senior deduction among other deductions if applicable, such as the tip deduction, the overtime or the car loan interest deduction.
