According to the IRS, armed forces reservists can deduct work-related educational expenses. https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc513. Where can I input this?

I took an MOS-related course (within the same MOS that does not credential me for a new trade or MOS) that cost $14,000, and I would greatly like to deduct this. The IRS confirms that Armed Forces Reservists can deduct education expenses.

In TurboTax Online, enter 'form 2106' in the search microscope in the upper right hand corner of the screen.  Click Enter.  Click on 'Jump to form 2106'.

Armed Forces reservist expenses are one option available.

If you are one of the individuals discussed below, special rules apply to deducting your employee business expenses.

Armed Forces reservist (member of a reserve component)

You are a member of a reserve component of the Armed Forces of the United States if you are in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or Coast Guard Reserve; the Army National Guard of the United States; the Air National Guard of the United States; or the Reserve Corps of the Public Health Service.

Enter other job-related expenses not listed on any other line of this form. Include expenses for business gifts, education (tuition, fees, and books), trade publications, etc.

Great, but the key issue here is that in the form 2106, when you select armed forces reservist, the only option it gives is for unreimbursed travel expenses greater than 100 miles. There is no way to input other business expenses such as qualified education expenses or uniforms. This is a specific turbotax issue, as other services that I tried following turbotax not allowing it (H&R Block, FreetaxUSA) both allow the additional qualified options.

This absolutely needs to be rectified by turbotax.
