In the Oregon "Uncommon Oregon Credits" section, one of the things offered was "Donated to an Oregon Child Care Fund". I donated to CASA, does that count?

From the Oregon tax website and the Oregon Office of Child Care website, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) does not qualify as a "Child Care Fund".

The Oregon Child Care Fund is a specific government activity, operated by Oregon Office of Child Care. It is separate from and unrelated to CASA.

From Oregon Publication OR-17 Individual Income Tax Guide:

"Contributions to the Child Care Fund qualify for a credit on your Oregon income tax return. Your donation will help address child-care affordability, provider compensation, and quality assurance issues in Oregon. For details on the program, go to the Oregon Office of Child Care website, www.oregon.gov/occ."

A donation to CASA would qualify as an IRS charitable tax-deductible donation, so remember to enter it for the Federal return in the charitable contributions section of TurboTax.
