2024 NC Income tax is not using the correct value for taxable income

I believe my NC state tax return is not using the correct value for my taxable income. We were effected by Hurricane Helene and I filed a casualty loss form - 4684. The loss is being correctly applied on my 1040-SR but on my NC D-400 the value of my adjusted gross income is being used which does not include the casualty loss. Is this a bug in TurboTax's NC calculation?

North Carolina starts with Federal adjusted gross income as the starting point, so TurboTax is calculating your starting income correctly. The casualty loss deduction is an itemized deduction on your federal return which is taken after adjusted gross income. North Carolina doesn't allow casualty loss deductions as itemized deductions.
