2018 fed return limited to $10,000 taxes. $2,500 was denied.on 2019 return,how will they account for the fact that not all of my taxes paid were aloud as a deduction?

The deduction of State and local taxes (SALT) is capped at $10,000 and the excess is lost and cannot be carried forward to future years.
