1099-S Proceeds From Real estate Transactions Sale of Time Share

To enter your Form 1099-S timeshare sale information in TurboTax Online:  

  1. Open TurboTax Online
  2. Select  Tax Home in the left pane
  3. Select the dropdown to the right of Wages & Income
  4. Select  Pick up where you left off, Review/Edit or the edit pencil
  5. On the Great! We've got your income info page, select the dropdown to the right of Investments and Savings -- 1099-B, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, Crypto Gain/Loss Report
  6. Select Start or Revisit to the right of Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other (1099-B)
  7. If you arrive at the Did you have investment income in 2024? page, select  Yes.  Otherwise, select + Add investments
  8. On the Let's import your tax info page, select Enter a different way
  9. On the OK, let's start with one investment type page, select Other, then Continue
  10. On the Tell us more about this sale page, enter Timeshare and its location, then select Continue
  11. On the Now, enter one sale for Timeshare page, enter your relevant information. 
  12. Under What type of investment did you sell?, select the dropdown for Land (personal use).  Once done with the page, select Continue
  13. Answer as appropriate on the subsequent screens
