I am a nonresident alien for federal tax. Am I a residence of California though?

I currently hold F-1 status, 4th yr. And I live/study in California. I know I am a non-resident alien for federal tax. But I am confused if I am a resident of California or not. Thanks!

Yes, you are considered a California resident if you were there all 12 months of 2015.  If you were only there for part of the year, then you would be considered a Part-Year Resident.

State Residency has more to do with where you live than with your actual citizenship status.
