Team,
I am CA state resident. For the 1st half of the year from Jan to May, I physically worked in CA on W2, then from June - Nov 2025, I worked remotely for a KS company. Now I am filing Kansas Nonresident return via Turbotax. From what I read online, KS state should refund my KS taxes, as I was working remotely. Please share if this is correct?
In my KS nonresident return, I think I need to mention that Zero earnings were earned in KS so that Turbotax can calculate this correctly?
Looking for your guidance on this 🙂
My KS Employer has my incorrect Employee address on the W2 form. They put in KS Office address. I think it is important that I need to ask them to correct this.
Thank you very much for your assistance.

Yes, if you are a California resident and worked remotely in California, you would not have to pay Kansas income tax. Because there was erroneous Kansas tax withholding, you do have to file a nonresident return and report zero Kansas income to get the withholding refunded.
You will want to notify them now to correct the address so you will not have to file Kansas again next year.
