Trying to e file my 2020 Wisconsin state return. I am a disabled vet who qualifies for the Veterans Property Tax Credit, this means that according to WI rules I cannot claim the $300 school property tax credit. The $300 was added to line 13 of my return automatically so, since the Veterans credit is much larger I overrode the $300 school property credit and entered my Veterans property tax credit in the correct place. Now the final step before submitting my returns has brought the process to a halt. The final analysis tells me that I cannot override the $300 school property tax to $0, so I reverse the back out and then try to file it tells me that I cannot claim the Veterans property tax credit if I also am claiming the school property tax credit. I believe you have a glitch in the WI state taxes software. I want to e-file and already paid the $25 fee but the software is stopping me from filing. Please advise if I have to file by mail and if I do, how do I get my $25 returned.

You are correct. You cannot e-file a return with overrides. You will need to revisit the WI state interview in the step-by-step mode for desktop versions. Go to the Taxes and Credits section in the WI interview. Edit the "School Property Tax" topic. Zero all the boxes and continue. That should remove the credit without an override.
So I am having the same problem on 2021 return. When I go into edit the school property tax, the app actually tells me that I am not eligible for it, BUT it does not let me zero the credit! What is the fix?
