Why won’t my state tax return go through? I live in Rhode Island

Did you by any chance efile the Federal return separately prior to the state return?   If so,  has it been accepted?    If a Federal return is efiled first, you will have to wait for the Federal return to be accepted before you can then efile a state return by itself.

Did you get any error message?

Go through the REVIEW tab to see if it provides a clue.

The Forms Availability tool linked below shows the Rhode Island forms are ready, except for a small few that are unsupported for efile.   Select your state there, and look at the list to see if any are your return.
