In the MN interview continue through to the page asking for the "Rebate" amount. Cursor in the box and be sure to delete/backspace several times to ensure there are no stray spaces/characters. Continue through the interview.
If the error persists, exit TurboTax and clear your browser cache. Here is a link that may help with that process. Then sign back in to your account/returns and click "State Review" in the left hand menu.
If the error still persist, you will delete the form M1M following these steps:
1. Select "Tax Tools" in the left hand menu
2. Select "Tools"
3. Select "Delete a Form"
4. Find the "Form M1M" in the MN section
5. "Delete"
6. "Confirm Deletion"
Go back through the MN state interview verifying all entries are still correct; this time do not click into the "Rebate" box. Continue through the interview and the error should clear.
The form M1M will re-generate from entries transferring from your federal interview but the "Rebate" subtraction box should be clear.
Thank you for the information. I am using the desktop version of Turbotax on Mac. It seems that you are talking about the online one. Can you please provide the solutions for the desktop version?
BTW: I have tried to delete/backspace several times to ensure there are no stray spaces/characters; however, it did not work. Moreover, I also clicked "forms" in the software, but did not see "M1M".
Thank you for your help in advance.
In the desktop version, go to the screen that asks about the rebate. Clear it and then switch to Forms mode. You will be on the correct form with line 33 highlighted for the subtraction. Mine is showing up on the screen but is not being listed in the forms on the side since it is not a part of the return.
You can click to delete the form. It will retain any information it deems important but it sounds like yours is blank - or should be.
