To enter the exclusion, follow the steps below:

While in your return, click My Info in the left menu and ensure that the Armed Forces button is Yes (see attachment).
Click Wages & Income.
Click Edit/Add to the right of the 1099-R.
Click Edit.
Continue through the pages until you see Where Is This Distribution From?
Click Active Duty Military Retirement and enter the amount.
