We live in CT and filed non resident state taxes for MA after finding out we didn't have to (didn't meet the MA gross income). Can we get the tax money back?

No, I meant if we need to file an amendment and get the taxes we paid to MA back.

I'm confused.  If you filed a non-resident tax return to MA with income properly allocated to MA, that return would have had the correct refund amount.  But if you made a mistake because you didn't properly allocate income to MA, sure you can file an amended return.
