Was my nys tax paid?

How do I find out whether my nys tax was paid automatically or, did I need to send a check? 

Either way, why wasn't I notified before 4/15 as a courtesy?

Print/Save your your tax returns to a PDF file and look for the "Electronic Filing Instructions" in both the Federal and State sections of the PDF file.

You can check your Debit instructions on each one separately to make sure they were properly formatted (routing/account/date) . 

For Debits scheduled right at the Filing deadline...it can take a few extra days for the debits to occur due to the huge last minute filing load.
