TurboTax won’t let me proceed without choosing a state from the list for state income tax, but there’s no state income tax where I live. How do I get past this section?

Several  states do not have a state income tax.  So these states will not show up in certain drop down lists.   Leave boxes 15, 16, and 17 blank when you enter a W-2 for these states.

Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming

In the My Info section of the program when you were asked for your resident state, did you enter one of the states that does not have a personal income tax?

 Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming
