TurboTax duplicated the $ of state wages. This caused me to schedule a payment when I was supposed to receive a refund. State still pending, can we fix it?

TurboTax software duplicated the state wages for the state refund on box 16 causing me to pay the state instead of getting a refund. Since the state tax return is still pending, can we fix this? or do I need to amend the return?

Yes, you can fix it but you will have to wait until after your return is either "Accepted" or "Rejected" by the Governmental Agency.

If your return gets "Rejected" then, you can go back in and fix the rejected issue also the duplicate amount. Once you have done this, you can e-file it again.

If your return gets "Accepted" by the agency. Then, you will need to amend your return and claim for the refund. See below for amending instructions and helpful links. https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3288565
