Tax Year Prior to 2020: How can I attach Calif Form 3840 to my return using Premier 2019

California Form 3840 - California Like-Kind Exchanges is available in TurboTax Premier.  If you report a like kind exchange, then the program should create the form to be filed with your tax return.  As for attaching a form to your return, that is not possible.

My like kind exchange completed in 2016. Turbo tax premier has always completed Form 3840 every year since then since Calif requires each year. This year Turbo Premier 2019 did not complete 3840. Don't know why?

I can't explain why the program did not generate Form 3848, but if it did not, you will have to print and mail your return, as you cannot attach forms and email your return using TurboTax.

For best results, print and mail your return and you will know exactly what was attached.
