state of OH want me to put a number more than 0 in the out-of-state purchases Under sales/Use Tax on form

state of OH want me to put a number more than 0 in the out-of-state purchases which you paid no sales tax or OH use tax. I do not have any and the review keeps marking this as an error. What do I need to do?

In the course of the Ohio interview, did you see on the screen titled "Take a look at Ohio taxes and credits" at the bottom of the screen, a link to "Ohio out-of-state purchases"?

Based on a test, when you ran the state Review, did you get a screen "Check this entry", "followed by Information Worksheet: Use purchases shouldn't be less than zero"? There is a line "Use tax purchases" followed by a box with 0 (zero).

If so, it looks like somehow this section got a county name inserted into it (if you scroll down in the error message box, you can see it). So long as there is a county name, TurboTax will demand a dollar amount.

Are you using the TurboTax Desktop product?

I'm using TurboTax Desktop, and I also have this problem. I cannot scroll down to see any county name. How can this be fixed? I don't have any use tax purchases, but cannot get past this error.

Follow these steps:

  1. Switch to Forms mode.
  2. Look on the left side for the forms in your return.
  3. Look for the red exclamation mark
  4. Select that form
  5. Look for the pink box
  6. You can scroll on that form and delete an entry or the whole form.
