State filing, what do I put in for Federal Income Tax Refund/Overpayment Received

Federal Income Tax Refund/Overpayment Received (Iowa).

I have a child tax credit from 2018 tax year ( what I received in 2019). I am needing help figuring out what line or what I need to add and subtract to get the number I need to put in.

You don't report Child Tax Credits. Credits are not taxed.

What line do I find the amount I put in for that part of state taxes? Or what do I subtract from my overall refund from 2018? @KrisD15

I'm not sure we are on the same page.

Are you talking about child tax credits? Information about a 2018 child tax credit wouldn't be asked about and you would not enter anything about it on your 2019 tax return.

Are you talking about a State Tax Refund? That would have been asked about and if you entered anything, it would be listed under Wages & Income  scroll down to 1099-G (State Tax Refunds)

Hope this helps.
