State and local taxes ?

State and Local taxes are deductible on your federal return if you are itemizing your return.  You also have the option of choosing the sales tax deduction instead of the state and local income tax deduction.

They are generally not deductible on your state return, however, state tax laws vary drastically, so without knowing which state, it would not be possible to know if the local taxes are deductible for the state return.
