Multi-State Military Tax Filing
I have lived in Arizona for all of 2020 as an active duty member of the US military. However, for the first roughly two-thirds of the year I was a Colorado resident. I transferred to Arizona residency this year which waived my state taxes as a military resident of Arizona.
I already filed my federal return, just need help filing my multi-state tax returns for both of these states.

You will have to file a Part-Year return for Arizona and Colorado. You will have to allocate your income pro rata (percentage of time you were a resident of each state).

Multi-State Military Tax Filing
I received a California refund of $1114 while I was living in Arizona, do I need to file a NR for California? It was not taxable on my Federal return. If I don't need to file a California return, how do I remove the request for the extra state??
Thank you,
Chris.......

Multi-State Military Tax Filing
If CA is not a resident state and you had no CA source income you do not need to file in CA, even if a return is generated in TurboTax. Just don't file it.
Two items to check in the "My info" section of the federal interview.
First, "Edit" your information. If you did not live in CA during any part of 2020, be sure CA is not listed as a state you lived in.
Next scroll down to "Other State Income" and "Edit". If you did not earn any income from CA sources be sure CA is not listed in that section. The CA state tax refund is not CA source income.
You can then "Delete" the CA state interview and it should not regenerate.
