Live in NJ, Had employment from NJ, Is this taxable in NY on my nonresident return?

Hi guys,

Question.

I live in NJ and worked the first week in NJ in 2019.  I started a new job in mid January in NYC then got laid off three months later.  I collected Unemployment from NJ (not NY).  Then i worked a temp job in NYC in Oct then got hired full time by another company in Nov in NYC as well.

I received a 1099-G from NJ for my unemployment.  Is this amount taxable when i do my NY Nonresident return?

No, you are only taxed on New York source income during the time you were a nonresident. Please view this New York revenue link for more information. I strongly recommend preparing your New York nonresident return before you prepare your New Jersey return to ensure accurate calculations,
