Re: Filing my VA return

Trying to file my VA state taxes but I keep getting the message that I have not filed my federal return yet. My federal return has been accepted. My husband and I are filing different states. My IL state tax went through ok. VA did not.

IF you prepared separate MFS tax returns for the states...using a different file or account from a Federal MFJ tax return, and the Federal acceptance was thus in a different file or account, then you are stuck with printing/mail filing the state forms. The accepted federal has to be for the same file/account.
