Hello! How come the Local Income Tax I paid to Philadelphia is not showing on my PA State Return?
I am a Philadelphia resident and work here too. Thanks!

The Philadelphia wage tax is separate from Pennsylvania income tax. It does not affect your state tax return.
The Philadelphia wage tax is a flat tax. City residents don’t have to file a return unless they worked outside Philadelphia city limits on some days and their employer withheld tax on those dates. If that’s the case, you can file a wage refund petition.
Thanks!! I think my confusion has come from the fact that apparently my employer did not withhold PA State tax, just Philadelphia City
