My Oregon kicker amount is not showing or changing the 'OR due' amount at top of the screen. Will I get my kicker added at the end of the filing process or am I doing something wrong?

Oregon taxpayers are eligible to claim the "kicker," a refundable credit, on their 2025 tax return, which is filed in 2026. To qualify for this credit, you must have filed your 2024 return. If your 2024 return wasn't filed using TurboTax, please ensure you inform the program so the credit is properly considered.

By Oregon interview you mean the few questions about being an Oregon resident?
I did file my taxes for 2024 on Turbotax. It showed me the amount I would get but never added it to the total due at the top of the page. It even offered me to donate that amount, but even after those questions nothing was added to the total due.
Thanks for your help!
Since you have already followed the proper steps on TurboTax Online, we should check the credit again. One way we can check this is by looking at the actual form. The credit should be in Line 32 of Form OR-40.
To see the Oregon State form, follow the steps below:
Thank you for that instruction. I also have this same issue. I did look at the preview of my 1040 and saw my kicker amount, but I also do not see it applied in TurboTax under the Oregon Refund.
Do you see the credit on your Oregon Return, line 32 of OR-40? If it is there, it is already included in your refund amount. The refund amount you see in TurboTax includes all of your tax deductions and credits. @user17700737733
The 2025 Oregon "kicker" tax credit, is based on 2024 tax liability, equals 9.863% of a taxpayer's 2024 personal income tax liability.
I just checked line 32 on the OR-40 from last year's tax return and I see an amount that is much higher to the kicker amount TurboTax was showing me as I filed my taxes for 2025.
When you completed your OR return this year, TurboTax would have asked to you to confirm your prior year tax liability. This year's kicker will be on line 32 of this year's return.
The amount should be 9.863% of your 2024 tax liability which can be found on line 31 of your 2024 OR tax return. Take that number, multiply it by 9.863% and that is the amount that should be your kicker credit on line 32 of your 2025 return. Line 32 of the 2024 return was total withholding, not the kicker credit (there was no kicker credit for tax year 2024).
What if the math doesn't math?
I created a mock return and was able to get a kicker credit of exactly 9.863% of the amount entered into the box for 2024 tax liability. Please note that if an amount is entered for a Oregon credit for income taxes paid to another state, this will decrease the amount of the kicker credit.
For example, when I enter $10,000 2024 Oregon tax liability, I get a credit of $986. When I enter $10,000 tax liability and a $1000 credit of taxes paid to another state, I get a kicker credit of $888 (which is 9,000 x .09863).
If the math still does not work out correctly for you, I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:
TurboTax Online:
TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:
*(If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then, “Send Tax File to Agent”)
I already submitted my taxes as the amount owed and the kicker amount would've cancelled each other out.
Is there any way I can share my files with you after submitting my taxes?
Yes, you can still send us the file. Sign in and scroll all the way down to Your tax returns and documents - then select 2025. If you see the option to send from there, go ahead. If you don't see it, click on Add a State and your return will open back up. Then you can go to the the Tools menu and send it from there. @carolinadalfo
How to access your return post filing
If you are using the desktop software, you can send it at any time from the ONLINE button up top.
I am having the same issue. I filed my 2025 taxes today (2/28/26), but I went back and looked because I had the same issue--it calculated my kicker credit, but my refund amount did not change. I filed my 2024 taxes in Oregon (for the past few years before that), so I qualify. My 2025 OR-40-P's Line 65 (Overpayment of tax) is the difference between Line 55 (Tax after standard and carryforward credits) and Line 64 (Total payments and refundable credits), but it does not appear that my kicker credit on Line 56 is being included in that calculation/as part of my refund since it is not taking it into account. The net refund line on Line 76 also does not appear to have it factored in, either.
I would like this re-examined. I selected "send my file to an expert", and the token that was generated is 1335481. @DawnC @LenaH
Since you filed on 2/28, you can look at your actual Form OR-40 to see if the kicker is "hidden" in your tax calculation.
The kicker for this year is exactly 9.863% of your 2024 tax liability.
[!NOTE] Check your 2024 Form OR-40, Line 22. Multiply that number by 0.09863. That result should match exactly what appears on your 2025 Form OR-40, Line 56.
If you are still confused if the credit was properly applied or not, reach back and we will investigate further. If the amount appears on line 56 however, the credit was properly applied in the calculations on your return.
