Not able to file CA state tax

I was able to complete my Federal tax return but when it switches over to the State tax return, it says i'm "not qualified to file for free" as I made over $36,000. It then prompts me to the IRS.gov website to choose the only other option to file for free. 

I would like to remain in the TurboTax program (and am willing to pay for the service, as I thought I already was) but I can't find an option to do so. 

Has anyone else experienced this and/or successfully navigated this issue?

If your Adjusted Gross Income on the federal tax return is over $36,000 you are not eligible to use the TurboTax Free File Program.  You can either switch to one of the other Free File Programs or use the TurboTax online editions. 

The TurboTax online editions have a Free edition which is not income limited by it is for very simple tax returns.  If you have tax data where the data has to be entered on other forms or schedules other then the Form 1040 then you will have to upgrade to the Deluxe edition or higher.  These higher editions are not free.  And if you want to complete a state tax return using these higher editions there is an additional charge of $40.
