NJ Tax Question - NY/NJ Wages

I live in NJ

I have multiple W2s from different employers. 1 of those employers is in NY.

When TurboTax walks me through the "Let's confirm Taxable State Wages from XXX" screen I get asked to confirm for 2 employers/W2s, not one. 

Is this a bug? I remove the NY wages from both, but I want to make sure nothing is being calculated incorrectly as I should only be asked about the 1 NY employer/W2. And yes, I confirmed there is only one Box 15 entry which is NJ.

If you are still getting an error, it would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2021" file that is experiencing this issue.

You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions: Go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools. 

1. Then select Tools below Tax Tools. 
2. A window will pop up which says Tools Center.  
3. On this screen, select Share my file with Agent. 
4. You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is. Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number. 
5. Reply to this thread with your Token number. This will allow us to open a copy of your return without seeing any personal information.  

We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.

I am not getting an error. I am questioning why I am being asked to confirm NY/NJ wages for a W2 that ONLY has NJ listed income. My concern is that these wages may be used incorrectly.

No, the wages will not be used incorrectly so long as you have correctly reported the state wages as shown on your W-2.  You are being asked to confirm state wages for both W-2s NY/NJ to ensure that they are properly entered for each state.

But I am not asked about other W2s I have. I have more than 2 (total of 4). I only mentioned the 2 that are in question:

1 is legit, worked in NY and I would expect to be asked about that.

But other 3 W2s I did NOT work in NY as part of that W2 and would not expect to be asked about them but was asked about 1 of the other 3. Seemed odd which is why I asked the question.
