My tax residency status is RA. I graduated from MI (july-2018) and received only 1042S(16) and no W-2 then moved to KY where I got W-2. Do I need to file MI state tax?
I am currently filing Federal and KY tax returns. The income in 1042-S(income code 16) has 14% federal tax withheld.

Yes, you need to file a MI return for your 1042-S income.
