My original state return was mailed. I am filing an amended state return and it shows it being filed electronically when it wasn't

The help desk can look up the information to see if it did actually get transmitted.  Call them.

If you e-Filed you will get "ACCEPTED" or "REJECTED", one or the other.

If TurboTax will put your amendment through via e-File, that's a good thing.
