The IRS will begin processing tax returns on January 29, 2018.  Some states start processing e-filed returns at the same time as the IRS, while others don't start processing until sometime later. It's not unusual for state returns to remain in pending status several days after the federal return has already been accepted.

• Connecticut state income tax refunds are generally issued within 10-12 weeks from the date that a paper return is received. 
• Tax Refunds that are electronically filed, WebFiled or Telefiled returns generally are issued within 4 business days of the acceptance of the return.
