Both my wife and I moved from another state to Montana and established residency July 1 2021.
I can't seem to find the option to file married but separately on the Montana Part year residency form.
Is that not an option as a part year resident?
Thank you.

Yes, you can file married separated as a Resident part-year when you file your Montana Tax Return Form 2. The options you are looking for are located in the Filing Status and Residency Status sections on Form 2

Hello Leonard and thank you for the prompt response.
I do see the options on Form 2 but I can't seem to find the various filing options in Turbo Tax to choose the various filing options.
Montana law does not require you to claim the same filing status that you claimed on your federal tax return.
You can use TurboTax Online to file separate state returns, but we recommend you use the CD/Download software version to do this because you'll only need to pay for one TurboTax product (you can file up to five returns).
