military pay not taxable in MI

Michigan does not tax active duty military income, but Turbo Tax is not subtracting mine on Schedule 1.  It did it correctly last year, but this year it is not.  How does this get corrected?

Please go back through your MI return. Where the program asks about Michigan Wages, be sure that you are not including your military pay. If your only income is military, then a zero should show. Thank you for your service.

The income is being carried over from the federal return.  It should get subtracted off on the MI Schedule 1, but turbo tax is not completing schedule 1.  It's coming up with me owing $1800.  I have my military income and a small amount of investment earnings.  I've been back through the program for the Michigan tax return at least a half dozen times, and there's nowhere for me to identify my military income.

Go to the "My Info" from the black panel on the left side of your page.

Under "My Info", select Edit to the right of your name.  It will take you to your personal info page.

Scroll down below your Occupation.  You will see the following asking if you are member of the armed services.  Make sure you have checked "Yes".

Military

Once you make this change, it should flow into your Michigan return and will treat the military pay as being nontaxable within Michigan.

I cleared a month of cache and cookies.  Still not working . . .

I was going to try deleting all my data and start over, but it won't let me.

I tried calling your support line, and after giving the computer voice all my information, was told that my wait time was going to be over 45 minutes!!  Ridiculous!  Fix your program --  this should be a simple process and it is not working!!!

After you entered your W-2, did you continue through the interview and click the box for "Active duty military"

If not, you can click edit next to the W-2 and find the screen that way.
