Massachusetts Department of Revenue indicated that I owe taxes in 2015 but I didn't live there in 2015. Do I still need to pay state taxes?

If you did not live there or have MA sourced income then you do not need to file a MA return ... read the notice carefully and see why they think you need to file and how to address the situation ... call the number on the notice if you have more questions.

If you worked in Massachusetts in 2015, your income from that job would be taxable by Massachusetts, even if you were not a Massachusetts resident.
